Psychedelic Sloppies Launch Party

Psychedelic Sloppies Launch Party

Hello. You’re invited to celebrate the launch of Psychedelic Sloppies, an introspective night of music inspired and influenced by the vast sound of Psychedelia. This experimental event will be hosted on Wednesday 16th October, at the famous landmark pub, The George Tavern in Shadwell, East London. The George Tavern lives on the front line in the fight against the death of live music and music culture, therefore it is the perfect venue to launch this new event.

This particular event shall be FREE ENTRY.

Psychedelic Sloppies is a celebration of music and art, not to mention an excuse to let your hair down. Currently, we will only be playing live music, although for future events (pending the success of the launch), we plan to host art exhibitions, an open mic night, a club night with DJ’s, a film night and much more.

The bill for Wednesday 16th October comprises of:

Luna Moon

- A grungey, punky, shoegazy band that draws inspiration from the psychedelic genre.

Dr Gosso & the Samplers

- A Lo-fi Hip-hop duo with some trippy beats. Dr Grosso find their samples from a plethora of world music and jazz, then replay their electronic creations live using guitars and a drum machine.

More acts to be announced.

-

Here at Psychedelic Sloppies we are open to suggestions: What would you like to see put on? Who would you like to see play? Do you have any art to submit/know any artists that would like their work exhibited? Let us know.

❤️✌️See you there. Peace and Love.✌️❤️

Kadonnut Manner (Finnish Primitive Guitar) at the George Tavern

Finland's Kadonnut Manner is doing his fourth longer European tour in August-October 2019 and is playing at The George Tavern o n Sunday 1st of September.

His hypnotic, raw, and cinematic instrumental music invokes vivid imagery in the heads of those who hear it faster than any chemical would. The music draws its influences from John Fahey school of American Primitive Guitar playing, country blues of Skip James and Mississippi John Hurt and finnish folk music, but it doesn't require any prior knowledge from the listener, only an open mind.

Kadonnut Manner features lots of open tunings, hot syncopation and driving rhythms and experiments with expanding the country blues form with things borrowed from different folk traditions, 20th century classical music and other inspiring sources. Expect a deep journey into unseen worlds created by just one steel stringed acoustic guitar.
